Lifegroups
Have you ever noticed how many "together" verses there are in the Bibile? We're told in Psalms to "Exalt His name together." Jesus promised to show up when just two or three believers got together in His name. Togetherness was a big deal with the first century church. We see them worshipping, learning, praying, witnessing, eating, and just hanging out....Together. Paul tells us that we have been joined, built, empowered, held and become heirs together with all believers, and if we're still here when Jesus appears we'll be caught up together to meet Him in the air.
Why all this emphasis on togetherness? Because in order to experience the spiritual growth that God desires for everyone of us requires other people. Try developing the fruit of the Spirit in your life with out another person. How can you learn to love with God's love or experience God's patience without another person? It takes people...together... in relationship. People are better together!
Our goal at Christian Life Center is to create small groups, which we call Lifegroups that are more than just people doing something together. Lifegroups are people that:
Learn Together
Each group meeting includes time when leader facilitates a discussion of our Pastor's message for that week. The empasis is that the learning is applied, so discussion questions are used to allow people to come to grips with the topic.
Intercede Together
What happens when groups commit to pray for one another? God answers their prayers in amazing ways, and their faith is increased! This time also includes thanksgiving and worship.
Fellowship Together
Important as it is, the gathering of the large congregation for celebration and worship does not provide the setting to develop authentic community with loving and supportive relationships. Fellowship obviously must go on even outside of life group meetings if the group is to have any real life, however an important part of every meeting is the sharing of lives that goes beyond “How is your day?
Evangelize Together
Outreach, of course, happens outside of the meeting. The church is people, equipped to serve, meeting needs everywhere in Jesus’ name. Time is given for life group memebers to plan and strategize for community involvement and for communicating particular needs which are known.
Where do they meet?
Lifegroups meet in various locations throughout Broward County. Most Lifegroups meet in homes but there are several that meet at our church facility. For a complete list of Lifegroups click here.
Who can participate?
Lifegroups are open to everyone in the community.
When do they meet?
Lifegroups at Christian Life Center meet at various times each week or every other week. There are groups that meet in the daytime as well as in the evenings.
